Fight For Us

By: Raquel DeJesus

Twenty four-year old nurse Lauren Walden just got out of a serious relationship with someone who she thought she'd spend the rest of her life with. Feeling betrayed and cheated leaves her not wanting to start a new relationship anytime soon. Officer Eric Wright isn't looking for love. His last relationship left him feeling betrayed and bitter. But when he meets Lauren, the sister of one of his brothers in blue, it is love at first sight. He's there when her relationship falls apart to help her pick up the pieces. But when his past and secrets come back to haunt him, will Lauren be able to trust him again? Will they be able to work through their baggage and move forward? Can their love survive lies, danger, death, and a baby?

Three Stars

Lauren just wants to celebrate her brother's graduation without worrying about her boyfriend working late again. However, she gets more than she bargained for at the graduation celebration. A cheating boyfriend and a knight in SWAT armor. Eric refuses to let Lauren suffer alone while she is trying to process of the new information about her now ex-boyfriend. He promises to pick up all of the pieces and put her back together. He knows he shouldn't, but he can't control the pull he has towards Lauren. When Eric's past come back into his life, will Lauren see that Eric is her HEA or will she realize that everything she knows is a lie?

Lauren is fresh out of a relationship and very vulnerable. She second guesses everything and is very emotional. Eric wants to move on from his past, but obstacles outside of his control prevent him from doing so. He wants to love again and tries hard to show Lauren how he really feels. He has such a genuine heart and always tried to do what is best for everyone around him.

This book is told in dual POV so you get to see the inner thinking of both main characters. The secondary characters are some of my favorites. They have some of the wittiest comebacks. I wish I could be as creative as Emily. She has some of the best sayings of any character I have ever read. I absolutely cannot wait to read her book.
